The trend of superhero movies is far from reaching the endpoint of its curtain call. And it is probably the reason why it’s making Tyrese Gibson want to join the practitioners of justice. In the few attempts that Warner Bros. made to materialize the DC Superhero Comics into films in the past years, one of their films that reached rock bottom was “Green Lantern.” A lot of people were disappointed with the outcome of such movie that star Ryan Reynolds wouldn’t pursue his involvement in the narrative. But that was then and things are starting to develop towards a more reasonable path this time around. Just like Marvel, Warner Bros. made the announcement of the creation of their DC cinematic universe movie line-up that will start with “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” premiering next year. The roles of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Aquaman are already filled up, and now, “Fast & Furious” star Tyrese Gibson is hinting in social media that he wants to be cast as the Green Lantern.
According to ComicBook.com, Gibson has been avidly posting images and messages that state his eagerness to become the next Green Lantern. Especially on his Instagram account, tyrese, he’s been reposting fan-made images that showed how extremely suitable he is for the role. Using hash tags like #GreenLanternMission and #BlackSuperHeroMission, the actor started his campaign for the role in the past week.

Most of the images he posted were fan-made, but there were also some actual images that he took, like the one where he is driving towards Warner Bros.’ studio, making it appear as though the actor is explicitly implying something. Come to think of it, is this movement of his really about making an appeal for the role? Or a blatant way of teasing that he’s already landed the role? We’ll find out soon enough.
