“Kingsman: The Secret Service” is an action spy thriller based on the comic book “The Secret Service” created by Dave Gibbons and Mark Millar. The live-action adaptation will be directed by “X-Men: First Class” helmer Matthew Vaughn, written by Jane Goldman and Vaughn himself. The pic stars Colin Firth as Harry Hart, codename “Galahad”; Samuel L. Jackson as Richmond Valentine; Mark Strong as Merlin; Taron Egerton as Gary Unwin/Eggsy; Mark Hamill as Professor James Arnold; Jack Davenport as Lancelot; and Michael Caine as Chester King, codename “Arthur.”

“Kingsman: The Secret Service” is based upon the comic book by Mark Millar, and depicts a veteran secret agent who leads a young protégé into the world of espionage. The film borrows only the basic concept of the comic’s storyline but sets up a very different layout along with different characters. Uncle Jack is replaced by Harry Hart, Gary is no longer related to the veteran super-spy and MI6 no longer serves as the organization the protagonists work for. However, it rather sees an independent international intelligence agency operating at the highest level of discretion called “Kingsman.”

“Kingsman: The Secret Service” is set for a theatrical release on Feb. 13, 2014. That’s it for our latest scoop on “Kingsman: The Secret Service.” For more updates on your favorite celebrities, TV shows, events and upcoming movies, follow Movie News Guide (MNG).
