Are you missing Baby Bird and the rest of the gang on “Undateable”? The wait will soon wind down as NBC has confirmed the show will be returning to the small screen for its second season beginning Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. Read on for more details about this news story.

As announced in NBC’s midseason slate in a press release published on various entertainment sites, “Undateable” will be moving from its summer schedule to midseason. The show, which was renewed for a second season last August, will be returning with ten episodes.

The series is headed by Chris D'Elia as Danny Burton, Brent Morin as Justin Kearney (Danny’s roommate and business partner), Bianca Kajlich as Leslie Burton (Danny’s baby sister), David Fynn as Brett (Justin’s gay bartender), Rick Glassman as Burski and Ron Funches as Shelly.

A new cast member, Bridgit Mendler will be joining the show for its second season. The actress will play the role of Candace, the optimistic girl from Detroit. Mendler, in fact, posted a photo of her on Instagram with the cast of “Undateable” during a rehearsal.

When the show launched in May, "Undateable" became the highest rated summer comedy among the other networks. It also rose to become the most-watched comedy series for the summer for NBC in the last 10 years. Critics' response to the series were mixed, but despite some negative feedback, the show became a ratings hit in its first season.

Development for “Undateable” began in October 2012. There were some cast changes before the series started, jeopardizing its chances of finishing production. But nearing its debut date in May 2014, the series was all set and ready. It helped that the cast and its crew also launched a comedy tour to promote the series. Many of the show’s stars are actually successful stand-up comics so they used the tour to drum up publicity for the series.

“Undateable” centers on a 30-something carefree guy who becomes friends with a bunch of people who have qualities that make them unattractive to the opposite sex. The series follows their adventures in dating and finding their partners, but it also presents the friendship between this band of oddballs.

Catch “Undateable” when it returns for a second season this Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. on NBC and then keep your browsers parked here on Movie News Guide (MNG) for updates about the show.
