Aldub duo of Alden Richards and Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza is the popular ship of the present generation in the Philippine local entertainment. In fact, their influence crosses up to social media breaking millions of tweets every day as spearheaded by AldubNation. But more than just the expression of great love for this tandem, they are united for a great cause: to make a positive difference in people’s lives.
In a report from Manila Times, the Chairman of Philippine Red Cross, Richard Gordon, expressed his gratitude for all the fans of Aldub who initiated a blood donation drive. Last Sunday, Oct. 11, 2o15, hundreds of fans dropped by at the Philippine Red Cross National Blood Center to support the goal of the organization to help and extend lives through blood donation. The event went from 8 a.m. -5 p.m.and collected 195 bags from the volunteers.
GMA Network mentioned that the initiative of AldubNation is named “A Little Drop of Blood for Unity.” Possibly, there will be more blood donation activities that the fans will do for the next months. Their good deeds don’t stop here for they have just shown support for the biggest benefit concert yet to date for Richards and Mendoza.
Rappler reported that last Oct. 17, 2015, Lola Nidora dropped the exciting news that they will be able to personally meet again and this time there are no conditions set. By the use of specially-designed cupcakes, the pair spelled the phrase “tamang panahon” (right time). Yaya Dub’s old-aged employer finally gave the blessing for them and this will be done through a benefit concert show to be held at the Philippine Arena on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015.
The venue holds 55,000 seating capacity. Ticket prices are as follows: P1200 ($26), P600 ($13), P350 ($8), and P150 ($3). The wonderful part of the “Sa Tamang Panahon” concert is 100% of the proceeds will be directly allocated to the Aldub library project of Eat Bulaga. Three fortunate elementary schools will be the recipient.
Just after three days when tickets were on sales, it is already sold out as of October 19. Jio de Leon, son of Eat Bulaga’s host Joey de Leon, shared in his Twitter account a screengrab of the site selling the tickets.
