The event series, “Dig” is getting additional four episodes from USA Network. The cable channel has also set Thursday, March 15, 2015, as its premiere date. Read on for further details to this news item.
Last September, it was reported that “Dig” would be pushed back to airing in 2015, instead of the initial plan to run the series this fall. The delay was due to production issues that came up when the filming location, Jerusalem, was besieged by the political unrest that was happening in the region. The cast and crew had to move out and then schedules were changed and adjusted. The show picked Crotia and New Mexico as its new locations.
But it all seemed to work out as USA Network has confirmed, in a story published on Deadline, that the series will finally begin airing on Thursday, March 15, 2015. There’s more good news as USA Network has also ordered extra episodes for “Dig.” From the initial six episodes, the production will be adding four more, thereby capping off the first season with ten episodes.
“Dig” is a story about an FBI agent tracking down a religious artifact that could be a trigger to an incident that could change history. But along the way, the agent becomes the primary suspect to a murder.
The series stars Jason Isaacs (“Awake”), Anne Heche (“Save Me”), Regina Taylor (“The Unit”), Lauren Ambrose (“Six Feet Under”), David Costabile (“Breaking Bad”), Alison Sudol (“A Fine Frenzy”) and Omar Metwally (“Non-Stop”). The show is developed by Tim Kring (“Heroes”) along with Israeli-based production company Keshet Media. It is produced by Universal Cable Productions & Tecumseh Productions.
“Dig is not only a major event series, it’s also a major event for our studio. Tim and Giddy, Gail and Avi have been spectacular partners who are creating a great show under extraordinary circumstances,” said Jeff Wachtel, the Chief Content Officer of NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, which owns USA Network in the same report published on Deadline.
Mark your calendars and remember to catch “Dig” when it debuts on USA Network on Thursday, March 15, 2015. We will be providing more updates about the series here on Movie News Guide (MNG), so keep checking back.
