Puerto Rico's Valerie Hernandez was crowned Miss International 2014 during the finals of Miss International beauty pageant on Nov. 11, 2014 at the Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa in Tokyo. Read on for further details.
During the question and answer portion, the candidates were asked what would be their message to the world if they will be crowned Miss International 2014 according to the Philippine Star.
Hernandez was looking magnificent in a gold-embellished white gown during the finals. She sobbed with joy as she won the coveted crown.
Hernandez answered, “Thinking about Miss International title, I think it's not just crown, it's not just the title, and it’s one of the hardest responsibility. As Miss International, I want to send a message of love, peace, and unity. ”
Meanwhile, other special awards given at the pageant are Best National Costume to Ms. Indonesia; Miss Friendship to Ms. Columbia; Miss Internet Beauty to Ms. India; Miss Perfect Body to Ms. France and Miss Best Dresser to Ms. Colombia.
The winner of Miss International 2013, Bea Rose Santiago from the Philippines, crowned her successor. The 2014 Miss International beauty pageant had 74 participants. On her official Facebook page, Hernandez claims she was trained in classical ballet at the Escuela de Bellas Artes de Carolina. She lists Pizza Hut and Professional Gym as previous employers.
