The Vampire Diaries Season 3 Finale made a lot of jaws drop. Elena, played by Nina Dobrev, has to choose between brothers Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder). It also features a heartbreaking scene in a cave involving Tyler (Michael Trevino) and Caroline (Candicec Accola). There is also two deaths that are felt by the fans of the TV series.
Damon tells Stefan at the start of the finale that their life is a proverbial coin toss. Elena says that she has to let one of them go in a heart to heart talk with Matt (Zach Roerig). But before she can tell him who she chooses, Stefan arrives to see if she’s okay. At the same time, Damon is busy with Klaus’ (Joseph Morgan) body, which he has to hide from Alaric (Matt Davis).
Although she admits that Damon has a special place in her heart, she confesses to Damon that she loves Stefan. She said that if only they had met first. Then a flashback shows that Damon was the first one who approached her when her parents died.
But her confession doesn’t matter because Elena dies. She and Matt drives off the Wickery Bridge and when Stefan goes to rescue her, she forces him to save Matt instead. Or is it? Meredith (Torrey DeVitto) gives Elena vampire blood in the hospital so that she can recuperate from her injuries and we all know what happens to a person who dies with vampire blood in the system. It looks like Elena will turn into a vampire.
The viewers are made to believe that Alaric killed Klaus after the hybrid’s body was burned after being staked. But it seems that Bonnie (Kat Graham) performs one of Klaus’ favorite tricks and places Klaus’ in Tyler’s body.
But it is the end of Alaric Saitzman. He dies after Elena drowned. He comes back as a ghost to say goodbye to Jeremy before telling him about Elena’s death.
