In conversation with Collider, Paul Wesley has expressed that both characters, Damon and Stefan, have developed a long way and clearly beat the ones they were in “The Vampire Diaries” season 1. With exit of Nina Dobrev, the show is getting back to focus on ‘buddies’ Damon and Stefan.

Ignoring the fact that Nina Dobrev’s character Elena Gilbert has left, Ian Somerhalder accepted that “The Vampire Diaries” season 7 is actually the best of all. He further added, “We’re really able to really focus on what this show was always about, which is this relationship with these two boys… They’re like the main love story; that fraternal kinship is more powerful and in effect this year more than ever.”

Somerhalder further went on to explain that Damon and Stefan are brothers for life and would never turn their backs at each other.

In one of his interview with TV Insider, Paul Wesley laughed off Nina Dobrev’s exit. He said, “Elena’s still a very big part of the story. Her body’s in danger in the first few episodes, and Damon is doing everything he can to make sure it stays safe if and when she wakes up. We all had imagined this complete reboot where Elena was gone, but she’s talked about so much!”

“The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 Episode 7 titled “Mommie Dearest” will air today [November 19, 2015] and Episode 8 titled “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me” will air on December 3, 2015.
