Aside from her “Grease” and “The Great Migration” projects, “Spring Breakers” star Vanessa Hudgens also plays a role in the upcoming horror comedy film “Kitchen Sink”. The movie was set for release in theaters on Sept. 4, 2015. Hudgens will be joined by “Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll” actor Denis Leary. This “Zombieland”-ish Matthew Tolmach-produced flick was based on the 2010 Black List Topper script written by Oren Uziel, the man behind “Men in Black 4” and “Mortal Kombat: Rebirth” screenplays. Uziel has also been busy with the script he wrote for the new drama film “Devil and the Deep Blue Sea” starring “If I Stay” actress Chloe Grace Moretz.
The Hollywood Reporter mentioned that Jonah Hill has been considered to direct the film, but the seat was given to “Natural Selection” director Robbie Pickering. Aside from Hudgens and Leary, the cast includes Nicholas Braun from “The Perks of Being a Wallflower,” “Awful Nice” actor Josh Fadem, Mackenzie Davis from “Smashed” and Chris Zylka from “The Amazing Spider-Man.” Also included in the cast are Ed Westwick from Gossip Girl,” “Working Girl” actress Joan Cusack, Bob Odenkirk from “Breaking Bad” and comedians Ian Roberts, Keegan-Michael Key and Patton Oswalt. “Kitchen Sink” tells the story of a teenage vampire who forms an alliance with humans and zombies to fight off the aliens who are planning to invade their town, Dillford. Things got messed up and the humans, zombies and vampires were at war. It’s up to the teen protagonists to look for ways to put back harmony in Dillford again.
