Read on to know more about this exciting news.

BBC America previously reported that the “GoT” royalty will be guest starring to set foot on the “Doctor Who” TARDIS. Is there anything Maisie Williams can’t do? Williams joined Clara and the Doctor on their exploits in the favorite sci-fi drama in an episode called “The Girl Who Died”.

During her first day on the “Doctor Who” set, Williams said “I’m so excited to be working on Doctor Who as it’s such a big and important part of British Culture. I can’t wait to meet the cast and crew and start filming, especially as we’ll be shooting not too far from my home town.”

Steven Moffat, lead writer and Executive Producer, added, “We’re thrilled to have Maisie Williams joining us on Doctor Who. It’s not possible to say too much about who or what she’s playing, but she is going to challenge the Doctor in very unexpected ways. This time he might just be out of his depth, and we know Maisie is going to give him exactly the right sort of hell.”

Williams’ character, Ashildr, is a young girl in a Viking town, where the soldiers have all been slaughtered. Subsequently, Ashildr muddles with a treacherous type of trooper aliens. This leaves the Doctor and Clara a few hours to transform farmers into fighters and protect the village.

The essential question is, what did “Doctor Who” fans say about Williams’ performance? They quickly took to Twitter to share their sentiments. Reactions range from excitement, to wondering about her character’s true identity, to comparing Ashildr to Arya Stark:

There you have it, the fans have spoken and it seems like William’s did very well in her “Doctor Who” debut.

For the unacquainted, aside from gaining global fame from “GoT”, Williams has also starred in the documentary “Cyberbully” and was a three-time Screen Actors Guild Awards nominee. She was awarded with a Shooting Star Award at the Berlin Film Festival this February.
