There are still a few episodes left of “Hit the Floor” Season 2, but VH1 had already renewed the series. It will officially return for Season 3 in May 2015. Read on to learn more about the details.
The cheerleader drama series was created by James LaRosa. It is executively produced by LaRosa, Maggie Malina, Bryan Johnson, Susan Levison and Jill Holmes through The Film Syndicate and In Cahoots Media.
EVP of Original Programming & Production Susan Levison recently confirmed that the drama series will return for 10 episodes for Season 3. The season renewal came quite early with two more upcoming episodes before the end of Season 2. It is scheduled to end on Aug. 11, 2014.
“‘Hit The Floor’ delivered again with fantastic ratings and social media engagement in season two, especially among women. We look forward to seeing what kind of trouble the Devil Girls will get into next season,” said Levison in the VH1 article.
“Hit the Floor” was renewed after its successful run since its debut on May 27, 2013. It soared among the new scripted series during its first season as the most-watched series by the audience aged 18–49. The series continued to have a large following among women from the same age bracket. Its second season gave the series a permanent spot as a top show for its fans with social media accounts such as Twitter.
Who would have thought that being an NBA cheerleader isn’t all about the fun? The series follows the journey of a cheerleader named Ahsha (Taylour Paige). Her character is a newly recruited cheerleader for the Los Angeles Devil Girl. She is joined by Dean Cain as Coach Pete Davenport and Kimberly Elise as Sloan Hayes.
Other cast members include Logan Browning, Katherine Bailess, Valery Ortiz, Don Stark, Charlotte Ross, Rick Fox, Jonathan McDaniel, Jodi Lyn O’Keefe, Adam Senn, McKinley Freeman, Robert Christopher Riley and Brent Antonello.
