Disappointing—‘The View’ lost two big advertisers after Joy Behar and Michelle Collins mocked nurses on national TV! Well, it looks like they need to do a ‘numerous sincere apology’ before getting their viewers’ sympathy back. Read on for more details.
Mocking nurses on a national TV show? Well, that’s a big (worst) step that a public figure could ever do! But, it seems like two hosts from ABCs “The View,” Joy Behar and Michelle Collins, did not realize that as they let out their thoughts about Miss Colorado Kelley Johnson’s nursing-themed monologue.
Many viewers especially, nurses around the globe reacted to what Collins said when she described how she watched Miss Colorado’s talent portion.
It may sound funny to Collins, but whoever you asked to watch and listen to how she said her opinion about Johnson—it’s humiliating.
Collin’s used the word “hilarious” to describe the heartfelt monologue of Johnson about her job as a nurse for patients who have Alzheimer’s disease.
“..there was a girl who wrote her own monologue, which I was like—turn the volume up—‘This gonna be amazing. Let’s listen’—and she came out in a nurse uniform and basically read her emails out loud and shockingly [she] did not win.”—Collins
“Why does she have a doctor’s stethoscope around her neck?”—Behar
“I swear to God, it’s hilarious!”—Collins
And, swear to God—it sounds like the one to blame here is Collins. Well, yes, Behar did asked about the “doctor’s stethoscope,” but it was clearly out of curiosity, compared to the “funny” opinion of Collins—it was pretty clear who needs to make numerous apologies.
On the other hand, these “comments” from the hosts led two of their advertisers, Johnson & Johnson and Egglands Best to cut off their ads to ABCs “The View,” according to Daily News.
On Wednesday, the two hosts apologize for their comment and sincerely professed their admiration to them.
However, according to Yahoo News, their apologies did not save their two big ads partners.
Johnson & Johnson stated that they disagree on what the hosts commented about nurses and decided to pause their advertising accordingly.
Egglands Best followed by adding that “in light of the comments,” they will no longer be advertising on “The View.”
