After a long absence, Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) is back in the new episode of Vikings. But, his reappearance has caused a lot of troubles for his family and his kingdom.
The next episodes will not be easy for the warrior as he sets the sails toward Wessex. Based on the synopsis released by History, a tragedy is waiting to happen.
The synopsis for Vikings Season 4 Episode 12 The Vision revealed that Ivar the Boneless (Alex Hogh Andersen) will also join his father’s voyage to Wessex. But, it looks like no one else wants to join the crew.
The locals think that the gods have deserted Ragnar. Meanwhile, Bjorn’s (Alexander Ludwig) plans to set sail for the Meditteranean in a sleek new boat created by Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard) is running smoothly. In addition, he seems to have inherited his father’s charisma.
But, Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) foresees a dark future ahead. She warned that Ragnar’s voyage will come across a vicious storm that will end in a tragedy. “You’ll die, Ivar,” she said in the teaser for Vikings Season 4 Episode 12 below.
Ragnar Lothbrok’s New Reality in Vikings
In his return to Kattegat, Ragnar will no longer be the kind of man he once was. His former allies like Floki and Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) have their own agendas now.
Speaking to TV Guide, show creator Michael Hirst explained: “It’s a rude awakening for them and they have to balance their feelings towards him with the general feeling of betrayal that a lot of people feel, including his sons.”
This is why, aside from his son Ivar, not one of Ragnar’s children wanted to join his return to Wessex to confront King Ecbert (Linus Roache). They all are more interested in making names for themselves rather that follow their father’s footsteps.
Vikings Season 4 Episode 12 The Vision will air on Dec. 7 on History.
