‘Vikings’ Season 4 will have a double episodes and new cast members.
Well, it seems like fans can now rejoice as the creators of History Channel’s “Vikings” announced that the Season 4 will have more episodes than the previous seasons!
In her San Diego Comic Con interview, Katheryn Winnick who plays one of the fan-favorite character in Vikings, Lagertha, confirmed that “Vikings” would be definitely have “double the amount” episodes next year. Of course, if there’s a lot more episodes than the the previous seasons, then housing new characters is absolutely possible.
During the Comic Con, Winnick first revealed the extended episodes of the “Vikings,” but when one of the interviewers, Jim Vejvoda asked if the “extended”episodes of the show includes 20 episodes—Winnick suddenly stop answering for a while and leans to Clive Standen, who plays Rollo in the series to ask whether there’s a 20 episodes in the next season or not. After a brief talk, Winnick replied that they think so.
So, it means… while the cast members are still not sure about how long the next season is, it’s better to keep your fingers crossed.
Meanwhile, “Vikings” Season 4 will be having new characters, not only one but three!
The Finnish actor, Peter Franzen is set to play as King Harald Finehair. According to the released character’s description of King Harald, he is a Scandinavian warrior who could possibly become a threat to Ragnar, played by Travis Fimmel.
Another Finnish actor will join Franzen – Jasper Paakkonen, who will play his younger brother, Halfdan the Black.
And last but not the least, Dianne Doan. He will play a major role in the next season of “Vikings.” Doan will be named as Ydu, a new and unique Chinese character.
On the other hand, Kevin Durand will reprise his role as Harbard, the Wanderer.
In addition to this, it was also confirmed that there will be a time jump between Season 3 and Season 4 and according to the show’s creator, Michael Hirst, the time jump will be a couple of years.
