Pharell’s team was up first with Jordy Searcy and Taylor Phelan competing against each other as both contestants sang The Script’s “Breakeven.” Both contestants blend well together because their voices as well as the way they perform in front of the coaches and the audience. In the end, Taylor won the battle.
It’s Team Adam’s turn and we had Alessandra Castronovo and Joe Kirk who both sang Rihanna’s “Stay.” Their tandem was so awesome, you can really feel each lyric as they sang the song. The coaches praised their collaboration while Adam had a hard time choosing someone until he finally chose Alessandra. Joe was very upset and no one stole him, but Pharell escorted him out of the stage with some words of encouragement.
One of the best performances of the night was from Gwen’s team members Menlik Zergabachew and Troy Richie. The two sang Hall and Oates’ “Maneater” and the whole collaboration was awesome. The coaches were so impressed with them, but Gwen only had to choose one – and she chose to go with Troy while Adam and Pharell tried to steal Menlik, who joined Pharell’s team.
Other performers were Rebbekah Samarin against Clara Hong and Adam chose Rebbekah while Blake chose Grant Ganzer over John Martin and we also had Tanner Linford against Justin Johnes.
