Finally, “The Voice” Season 8 has begun and the very first blind auditions were held for this season. Who made it? Read below for the full recap.
First off, our judges: Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Pharell Williams and the returning coach Christina Aguilera opened the 8th season of “The Voice.”
Now, it’s time to meet the contestants, who’s moving onto the next round and who showed the most potential to reach the top? That’s what we’re going to find out here!
The first contestant is Sarah Potenza – she’s edgy and has a very confident attitude. She belted out Rod Stewart’s “Stay With Me” and her powerful and unique voice made four judges turned around. In the end, she went for Team Blake.
Eye candy, 19-year old Lowell Oakley took the stage next. When he began to sing “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore,” Pharell and Adam turned around to face him. Lowell chose to be in Team Pharell.
Auditioning for his paralyzed mom, Rob Taylor was the third one to audition and he sang “I Want You.” His voice is soulful and it caught the attention of Pharell, Christina and Adam. He chose to be in Team Christina.
A winning streak has gone by and it’s not that long until we get the first one who didn’t make it through the first round. The fourth contestant Ivonne Acero sang “Try” but no chairs turned for her. Still on the good side, Pharell gave her some good advice, which will inspire her to be better and probably audition again next season.
Next up, a country singer, Cody Wickline sang “He Stopped Loving Her Today” and all four judges turned around to pursue him. In the end, it’s not hard to figure out which team he chose – Team Blake of course!
With both parents dead and never being able to hear her awesome voice, Treeva Gibson shared her voice to the world by singing “Young and Beautiful.” Blake and Christina turned around for her and she chose Christina.
Then we had an instrument player, specifically the ukulele Mason Henderson who sang “Riptide.” Sadly, no one turned around for him.
It’s Meghan Lindsey’s turn to wow the judges by singing “Love Hurts” and all the judges turned except for Blake and she chose Team Pharell in the end.
Joshua Davis sang “I Shall Be Released” and Blake and Adam turned their seats around to face him. With a loving wife and the most adorable daughter in tow, there’s no wonder why he sang beautifully on stage. In the end, he chose Team Blake.
An a capella singer, Bryce Sherlow took the stage with her own rendition of “Cool Kids” but she didn’t get any of the judges to turn around to face her. She told Pharell that she sang “Happy” for her group and Pharell asked her to sing it for him and in front of everyone. Pharell joined her in singing as well prodded by Christina.
The last contestant was Sawyer Fredricks who performed “I’m A Man of Constant Sorrow” and he blew the judges away! He chose Team Pharell in the end.
