‘War For The Planet of The Apes’ Plot, Update: Caesar To Rise From Ape Chief To Ape Lord; No Time Jump; Steve Zahn Joins?

“War for the Planet of the Apes” will be the ninth feature film in the “Planet of the Apes” franchise. The events of the film will take after the tragic events of “Dawn of the Planet Apes,” where, according to Caesar, the war between apes and humans has already been started.

In an interview with the Collider, director Matt Reeves said that he had altogether a different ending in his mind for the film but as the story progressed, he realized that he wanted the film to be more open. At the end of the film, the fans were left in an awe for what would happen to Caesar and his remaining apes. “The future is coming, but not already be at that future,” Reeves explained.

“Planet of The Apes” has a mass audience but the new title of the film suggests some changes in the development of the script. In the earlier film, Caesar had already accepted the fact that a massive war was on them, reports indicates that even he wants to push for peace.

So, if the current reports are true then Caesar will no longer be an Ape Chief, who will lead an army to fight. But, instead he will be a lord (Ape Moses), who will help the apes in getting peace.

Earlier, it was reported by Hollywood Reporter that “True Detective” star, Woody Harrelson will join the cast of “War For the Planet of the Apes” as The Colonel. Now, according to the latest news, the 47-years-old Steve Zahn has been cast as the new ape in the film.

Steve Zahn will also perform by using the latest motion capture technology, the same technology which Peter Jackson used in “The Lord of The Rings” for Gollum, and what Matt Reeves is using for Caesar in earlier two installments of the franchise. The “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” sequel, “War of the Planet of the Apes” is set to release on July 14, 2017.
