‘War For The Planet Of The Apes’ Update: Ape Lord Caesar Might Lose His Wife; Judy Greer Joins!

“War For The Planet Of The Apes,” the third installment by the “Planet of The Apes” franchise has begun production. Director Matt Reeves even shared the photo over Twitter with captioning it as, “#It has begun!”

“War For The Planet Of The Apes” has confirmed the presence of Caesar’s wife Cornelia, which will be played by Judy Greer, reported The Hollywood Reporter. Inclusion of Judy Greer hints towards a major plot focusing towards the new Ape Lord, Caesar and his family. There are chances that the bloody war will be disastrous for Caesar’s family.

The cast also includes Andy Serkis as Caesar, Woody Harrelson as Colonel, Chad Rook as Boyle and Steve Zahn, but it is unsure as of yet what role he is casted for. “War For The Planet Of The Apes” has started shooting in Vancouver, Canada.

The first set photos shared by Matt Reeves has hinted towards the war location. GamesRadar writes that the fans of 1968s Charlton Heston movie will immediately know the settings. The original movie had ended with remains of Statue of Liberty over the sand of a beach. It reported the last scene from Charlton Heston movie as memorable, remarkable and iconic.

According to IMDb, Andy Serkis has stated in the past that “War For The Planet Of The Apes” might not be end of the franchise. “Planet of the Apes” franchise might continue beyond the third part. There are very good chances of Ape winning the forthcoming wars inorder for franchise to continue.

Andy Serkis explained, “It might be three films, It could be four. It could be five. Who knows? But the journey will continue. It might not necessarily be summarized or completely fulfilled in this next one.”

“War For The Planet Of The Apes” will be directed by Matt Reeves who has also directed “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.”
