Warner Bros. wants to keep the ball alive in honor of the “Harry Potter” franchise with the creation of their new branch, Harry Potter Global Franchise Development. Read on to learn more about this scoop.
The “Harry Potter” movie franchise may have reached its end point, but it remarks a whole new beginning for the collaborative efforts between Warner Bros. studios and the creative team of J.K. Rowling. Based on the report of Deadline, the studio created the expansion of a new branch for the purpose of overseeing future production engagements with the main creator of the “Potter” franchise — J.K. Rowling.
The Harry Potter Global Franchise Development (HPGFD) is set to have two main bases that are located in London, England and Burbank, California. This newly established project will now be the center that is responsible for overseeing the array of newly developed franchises that are created by J.K. Rowling. According to the Telegraph, the team is dedicated to make the most of the “Harry Potter” banner, whether it is in the creation of new films, theme parks and projects alike. An example of this would be the popular go-to interactive website Pottermore.
Josh Berger will be assuming the presidential title for the HPGFD, adding in his long list of titles as the president and managing director of Warner UK, Ireland and Spain. Strategically, he will not be alone in leading the efforts of the two branches as he will be joined in by Polly Cochrane for the London branch and Paul Condolora in Burbank.
“With Harry Potter’s consumer touch-points continuing to grow and flourish, I am confident that this talented, cross-company global team will enable us to take full advantage of the many opportunities ahead – helping to bring Harry Potter in all its future incarnations to fans all over the world,” said Berger, as published on the Telegraph, during the announcement of the creation of such innovative team.
Truly, there are certainly more points to expand on when you look on the premise of the “Wizarding World.” If Harry Potter was the main highlight of that world, then surely, more facets can be explored to continue the expansion of the “Potter” franchise. As of late, the studio confirms the creation of the first of the upcoming film series “Fantastic Beasts” and “Where to Find Them” are based on the spin-off book of the main “Harry Potter” series but are neither sequels nor prequels of it. They are set in New York 70 years prior to the story of the “boy who lived,” and it is due for release in 2016.
We may not be able to see Harry Potter, but he definitely lives on in the creation of this new creative branch of Warner Bros. Studios. That sums up the details for the Harry Potter Global Franchise Development project. Keep tabs on Movie News Guide (MNG) for up-to-date information in the entertainment world.
