Prince Carl Philip married ex-model former reality TV star Sofia Hellqvist on June 13. Read to know more details about the wonderful wedding.
According to CNN, the Sweden prince Carl Philip, 36, and the ex-model Sofia Hellqvist, 30, were engaged in June last year. The pair tied the knot on Saturday, June 13, at the Royal Palace chapel in Stockholm, Sweden. The couple had a splendid wedding ceremony before five European queens, the Japanese princess Takamado, and many other blue-blooded guests.
The source also talked about Sofia’s decidedly non-traditional past reported by Swedish media, including her stint at the reality show “Paradise Hotel” in 2005 and her sexy photo for Swedish men’s magazine “Slitz.”
The former model and reality-TV star then pursued business-related studies in New York. She was skilled as a yoga instructor when she was there in New York. Recently, she concentrated on charitable work.
Sofia Hellqvist then jointly founded the non-profit organization – Project Playground. She is the honorary chairwoman of the charity, while Prince Carl is an honorary board member. The organization intends to lend a hand to helpless children and young people in South Africa’s townships.
“To mark their wedding, the prince and Hellqvist have set up their own joint charitable venture, the Prince Couple’s Foundation, again intended to help disadvantaged children, according to a palace news release,” said the source.
The source further reported the grand wedding celebrations started on Friday, June 12, with a private dinner for the guests. All the guests allegedly enjoyed the wedding banquet and dancing at the palace following the wedding ceremony on Saturday.
“We are looking forward to a summer wedding in the middle of June, when Sweden is extremely beautiful,” said the couple in a press release from the palace. The couple also added that the wedding is a big day for them.
Congrats to the handsome Swedish Prince Carl Philip and the lovely ex-model & reality-TV star-turned-charity organizer Sofia Hellqvist!
