A new batch of Hollywood A-listers is currently making waves in Tinseltown and they are composed a lot of young actors and actresses who are bursting with talent. The list, compiled by The Hollywood Reporter, includes sixteen new names, three of which are the stars of “Insurgent,” the second movie in the “Divergent” series. Read on.
Ansel Elgort, 21, and his “Insurgent” co-stars Shailene Woodley, 23, and Miles Teller, 28, were ranked as #3, #9 and #13 on the list respectively.
Hailed as part of the new Brat Pack by Vogue Magazine, Elgort has emerged as a favorite among teenage girls in the last few years. While only a supporting cast in the “Divergent” franchise, he has played the lead in “The Fault in Our Stars” and his upcoming projects show that he’s charting a career as a serious dramatic actor.
Woodley, famous for her role as Tris Prior in the Veronica Roth series, has received the nod of the Academy in 2011 for the film “The Descendants.” The dramatic actress will soon be seen in “Spectacular Now,” with a role she takes over for Jennifer Lawrence, who apparently passed. Shailene will also star in “Snowden,” a conspiracy drama directed by the acclaimed Oliver Stone.
Teller has hit gold in the upcoming “Fantastic Four” franchise where he’s playing Mr. Fantastic, Reed Richards. The actor is also going to star in the boxing drama entitled “Bleed for This,” and is set to do a movie with Jonah Hill in “Arms and Dudes.”
“Downton Abbey” actors Lily James, 25, and Dan Stevens, 32, also form part of the new A-list.
After the box office success of “Cinderella” from Disney, James will soon be seen in “War and Peace,” the BBC miniseries. She still has commitments with the Julian Fellowes period drama until its final series. Stevens, meanwhile, has already left “Downton Abbey” to chart a flourishing movie career. His casting as the lead is Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” opposite Emma Watson is one that’s already highly anticipated.
Number one on the new A-list is British star Eddie Redmayne, 32, whose Best Actor win for “The Theory of Everything” has essentially sealed his spot as Hollywood’s favorite leading man. His next film, “The Danish Girl,” has Redmayne playing a transgender, a most challenging role indeed.
The rest of the names on the list include: Chadwick Boseman, Felicity Jones, Margot Robbie, Anna Kendrick, Michael B. Jordan, Emma Stone, Chris Pratt, Lupita Nyong’o and Dakota Johnson.
