Wentworth season 4 is now available for streaming on Netflix. The show is one of the most loved TV series in Australia. It is even aired in other countries like the UK and New Zealand. It is also widely popular among netizens who rely on Netflix for watching it.
Wentworth is a retelling of the popular drama Prisoner which ran on air from 1979 till 1986. It has received praise from critics as well as viewers. It may be called a darker version of Orange Is The New Black, but fans of the show promise that it is even better.
The show even features on the “50 Best TV Shows on Netflix” list according to Netflix Life. It started airing in 2013 and has so far seen 4 seasons.
Wentworth follows the prison life of Bea Smith, played by Danielle Cormack. For those who follow the show, it came as shock when season 4 finale saw Bea Smith lying in a pool of her own blood.
The show’s EP, Jo Porter has confirmed that Bea Smith is indeed dead. She will not be seen again in the show.
She said it is really difficult to say farewell to Bae Smith- a much-loved character and that storyline puts a huge impact on the team and the fans too. She added, “This decision was particularly hard as it meant also saying goodbye to Danielle Cormack.”
Fans of the show will obviously find it hard to digest the absence of the much-loved character. But this opens up the way for a host of new characters and story-lines in season 5.
Wentworth was officially renewed for a fifth season last week and it is already in the making. Meanwhile, fans can tune in to Netflix to watch all the seasons aired so far.
