Fortunately, TV Line has released the official trailer of the exciting, global-in-scale series and managed to have an interview with two of the actors regarding what to expect in the show. SpoilerTV also managed to get their hands on several promotional first look photos that will intrigue eagerly waiting audiences until all the episodes are released on June 5, 2015. Read on to learn more about this exciting new series from Netflix.
According to an early report regarding the series on Deadline last year, the series will be global in scale with scenes being shot in Mumbai, Berlin, Mexico City, Nairobi, Seoul, Chicago, London and San Francisco. According to the article, the series will center around eight unique individuals called “Sensates.” After witnessing a tragic death, they discovered one day that they are linked with each other via their senses. Not only could they sense and feel what the others are thinking, but they are able to access each other’s skills, knowledge, and secrets.
The eight “Sensates” then have to try to figure out and discover what exactly caused them to be linked to each other. They also need to find out why it happened to them as they are vital for the future of humanity. According to the interview TV Line had with two of the show’s stars, Daryl Hannah and Naveen Andrews, Hannah informed them that this group holds the “key to humanity.”
However, this new life also comes with a new set of worries. They must fight to survive since an organization is bent on hunting them down in order to capture and vivisect them.
According to the interview done with TV Line, Hannah told them that the cast is very diverse, given the global scope of the cast.
The central eight “Sensates” consist of Brian J. Smith, Miguel Silvestri, Doona Bae, Jamie Clayton, Max Riemelt, Tina Desai, Tuppence Middleton and Aml Ameen. According to reports, Clayton’s character is a woman named Nomi Marks, and Riemelt will be portraying a man named Wolfgang.
Aside from Hannah and Andrew, they are joined by other cast members including Alfonso Herrera, Terrence Mann, Soo-jin, Sara Sohn, Freema Agyeman and Michael Gorski .
According to the interview, Hannah revealed that several of the main questions will get answered within the first season but more questions will also arise at the end.
TV Line also released the official trailer or first look of the series. In it, Andrews talks to a young adult male, one of the new Sensates. He then tells him that at first, all eight of them would feel strange things, such as joy, pleasure, and anger. He also told him that they would have access to each others skills and knowledge, but they would be hunted down because of what they are. He then told the man that he wasn’t going crazy, but his mind was expanding.
While Andrews talked, the audiences are informed that these eight strangers from eight different cities all have one connection.
Each person is then shown to each other as they now had seven other selves.
In India, a woman was in the middle of her own wedding, a young blonde-haired woman went clubbing, another man shot at others as he tried to escape, and the main young man, a South Korean woman, and a man from Nairobi all fought off their attackers.
Spoiler TV also released three first look photos in which Andrews was strapped to a medical chair, and had wires on him. Another photo showed Hannah in the middle of a street in Nairobi, and the last image showed all eight characters inside one room with each other.
