At least one person thinks that the upcoming erotic drama, “Fifty Shades Darker” is exciting, and it is none other than ‘Anastasia Steele’ actress. Dakota Johnson. She was at the Venice Film Festival recently where she spilled the details about the “Fifty Shades Of Grey” sequel. Read on for more details.
“Fifty Shades Of Grey” sequel is in the works, but it has lost its director. Sam-Taylor Johnson, director of the wildly successful first part, is not returning for “Fifty Shades Darker.” Taking is place is “House of Cards” showrunner James Foley. The leading lady however, is not discouraged by the turn of events, as she spoke to Empire Online recently:
“It’s quite exciting,” according to Dakota Johnson. “There was a moment of being afraid, because I didn’t know what it was going to be like. I had an experience with Sam [Taylor-Johnson] and then that all went away. Now I’m excited. I think James is a talented filmmaker. How often do you get to reconvene with the same people and have a different spin?”
Niall Leonard, the husband of author E. L. James, is apparently penning the story-line. The film is, according to rumors, subject to E. L. James’ whimsy as she exercises her creative control over the tiniest details, which was also why Taylor-Johnson left the project. The project has also been plagued with rumors of budget issues, with both Jamie Dornan and Dak Johnson apparently asking for a raise in pay, Movie Pilot is reporting.
The movie is set to hit the screens in Feb. 10, 2017, and will be followed by the inevitable third part of the trilogy, “Fifty Shades Freed.”
