Anna Paquin was recently asked by a fan on Twitter if she will appear in the upcoming “Gambit” movie. Read on to know her answer.
33-year-old New Zealand actress Anna Paquin has recently posted on Twitter that she will not play “Rogue” in the upcoming “Gambit” movie. She was asked by a fan on Twitter and replied “no.” It will be recalled that Paquin appeared as “Rogue” in the last four X-men movies – “X-Men,” “X2: X-Men United,” “X-Men: The Last Stand,” and “X-Men: Days of Future Past.”
Earlier this year, Channing Tatum closed his “Gambit” contract. He will play the role of card-tossing mutant Gambit. Since Rogue is Gambit’s love interest, people wondered if Anna Paquin will also star in the said 2016 movie.
On Tuesday, September 29th, Slash Film has reported that Paquin clarified her tweet. She said that her comment only reflects what she knows as of the moment. So it means that there is still a possibility that she will get the role.
Paquin tweeted ComicBook and said that her answer wasn’t a press release. She explained that she answered the question with the information that she currently has.
She tweeted, “@ComicBook Oh dear! That wasn’t a press release!!! I was asked and answered with the information that I currently have. That is all!”
Rogue’s love interest in the X-Men movies is Iceman. However, she enjoyed an epic long romance with Gambit in the comics. Now that Fox is making a “Gambit” movie, which will be released on October 7, 2016, will they include his romantic love story with Rogue in the storyline?
Just recently, Paquin has returned to television for a four-part miniseries remake of ‘80s slave drama, “Roots.” She will star as Nancy Holt, the wife of a Confederate officer whose plan differ from her husband’s when it comes to treating slaves.
