Emma Stone is one amazing actress. She even got her first Oscar nomination for “Birdman.” She, however, doesn’t think of herself as such. In a recent interview with Psychologies magazine, she opened up about the uncertainties and insecurities she feel about her career.
Stone recently received her first Oscar nomination in the Best Supporting Actress category for her performance on “Birdman.” In the film, she portrays a recovering addict working for her father played by Michael Keaton.
According to Buzzfeed, Andrew Garfield’s girlfriend — and rumored fiancé —was “f**king excited” to be nominated.
Stone added that she felt “very lucky” to be given the opportunity to play a different role from the usual leading lady typecast, although she admits that going beyond her comfort zone made her feel “slightly overwhelmed” at times. She says she’s trying to make the most out of the opportunity and learn as much as possible from her director and co-actors.
“It’s been wonderful but it’s also challenging and I’m going into places that I’ve never really allowed myself to go before with ‘Birdman’ and ‘Cabaret’,” Stone said.
She will be up against Patricia Arquette for “Boyhood,” Meryl Streep for “Into the Woods,” Laura Dern for “Wild” and Keira Knightley for “The Imitation Game.”
It looks like Stone and Garfield now has a good reason to attend the Academy Awards. As previously reported by Metro, the couple ditched the 2014 Oscars ceremony to attend to some last minute “personal matters.”
Stone had to attend to a “long standing family commitment” in Arizona and being the best boyfriend that he is, Garfield decided to come along. We hope Emma cleared her schedule for the Oscars this time around.
