Vin Diesel, who recently appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” for the promotion of “The Last Witch Hunter,” shared some details about the upcoming “Fast and Furious 8.” He confirmed the selection of F Gary Gray as the director of the eighth installment of the “Fast and Furious” series.
According to Diesel, this is for the first time the sequel is going to be primarily set in New York City, which was different from the earlier sequels that were set outside the United States. Oppositely, when the actor and producer of “The Chronicles of Riddick,” Diesel was asked if he and Paramount Pictures had any plan to do three more films, he simply replied, “A trilogy, yes.”
According to Christian Today, confirmation provided by Diesel speculates that another trilogy will close out the franchise making way to the release of “Fast and Furious 10.” However, Diesel did not clarify the fate of the wife of late Paul Walker’s character, Brian O’Conner. Jordana Brewster said in an interview with Huffpost Live that her character as O’Conner’s wife, Mia is not confirmed yet for “Fast and Furious 8.”
MTV had a recent interaction with Vin Diesel in which he opined that he did truly not know the official title although he kept on calling it “Furious 8.” On the other hand, 2009’s “Avatar” actress Michelle Rodriguez convinced that the concluding trilogy could be a tribute to Walker’s vision as his sudden unexpected demise could not finish the seventh installment.
The upcoming “Fast and Furious 8” is scheduled for hitting the theaters on April 14, 2017.
