After almost three months of its world premiere during the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, Zach Braff’s indie film “Wish I Was Here” has finally debuted its very first trailer.
We know Braff from his very first directorial debut in 2004 with “Garden State.” “Wish I Was Here” is Braff’s follow-up movie to “Garden State” which was his Indie breakthrough. He directed the film and co-wrote it as well with his brother, Adam. It was produced by Stacey Sher, Michael Shamberg and Zach and Adam Braff.
“Wish I Was Here” is about a 35-year old struggling actor who’s also a father and a husband. It follows the life of a man who is searching for his identity and his purpose in life. He’s not well-off so he decided to homeschool his two children.
The “Wish I Was Here” trailer doesn’t have much dialogue but it does relay what it wants to say to viewers. Joey King (“Oz: The Great and Powerful”), Kate Hudson (“How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days”), Mandy Patinkin (“Homeland”), Josh Gad (“Jobs”), and Ashley Greene (“The Twilight Saga”) are some of the stars in the film.
If you compare “Wish I Was Here” to “Garden State” you will find that “Wish I Was Here” is a more mature movie than the latter.
“Wish I Was Here” is certainly a movie that you should not miss. If you have seen “Garden State,” then you’re surely up for another Braff creation. This will show you the realities of life and it also shows off how brilliant Braff is. We think that a lot of people can relate to this and it’ll be such a huge eye-opener for a lot of us. It will make us appreciate what we have more and at the same time, people will be able to pick up some lessons that they can use in real life.
