‘Wolverine 3’ Is Hugh Jackman’s Last X-Men Movie, Turns Down ‘X-Men: Apocalypse?’

Sorry X-Men fans! Hugh Jackman just confirmed that forthcoming movie, “Wolverine 3” is the last time that he will be reprising his iconic role.

17 years of his life’s work and that too for one role: The Wolverine. If that cannot be considered remarkable then what can? If you come to realise the fact that Hugh Jackman has given 17 years of his life just to play the same role with uniform gaps you would not only be surprised but completely enthralled. Enthralled because of the finesse with which he has portrayed the titular character on screen making the character immortal and synonymous to his own name.

Christian Post reported that the actor confirmed at the Dr. Oz show that he will indeed play the role of the immortal mutant for one last time in 2017 in the movie “Wolverine 3.” It was being speculated that Wolverine will appear in “X-Men: Apocalypse” but it was later confirmed that there will be a sequel to the Wolverine standalone film.

Hugh Jackman also mentioned that moving on from  Wolverine was in his mind for sometime now and was looking for the perfect opportunity with which he could part ways from the character. He believes that the movie releasing in 2017 would be the perfect way to wrap things up.

Movie Pilot also speculated that the makers could go on a different path by adapting the Old Logan story where in the future the world gets divided and ruled by super-villains and all the heroes including the Wolverine goes into hiding looking old and tattered, fearing a sudden attack might just come their way.

The actor anyways has already communicated that whatever is coming the audience’s way will be in the interests of the character and prove to be just the right ending the character deserves. Whether or not Wolverine will be seen even in a brief cameo in “X-Men: Apocalypse” has yet to be confirmed. One thing’s for sure, Wolverine will never be forgotten.
