Wynonna Earp Season 2 Episode 1
The first season finale that aired a couple of moths ago left with a series of cliffhangers. Hopefully, answers will arrive in the premiere episode of Wynonna Earp Season 2.
According to a report by Calgary Herald, the narrative will pick up moments after the close of Season 1 Episode 13 Walk the Line). Moreover, viewers should expect to dive deeper into the show’s mythology. As soon as the show answers the lingering questions and solves the mysteries, more will pop up as the series moves forward.
“It just making the world a little bigger and really upending expectations,” Andras explained. “So much of the show is about the nature of good and evil and how that’s really relative and we’re really going to flip a lot of that stuff on its head this year.”
Meanwhile, the screenwriter also addressed the show’s passionate fanbase and its role in the fight for diversity in television. The romance between Waverly Earp (Chalkley) and Nicole Haught (Barrell) was an important step for LGBTQ community. In the year that killed lesbian characters on the small screen, the two survived and keep on surviving.
Andras recognizes the importance of their role in the community’s fight for representation on television and she takes it seriously. However, the executive producer admitted that the steps she and the people behind Wynonna Earp have taken so far were not made to become political statements.
“I feel very gratified that we always were going to make those decisions,” she said. “We weren’t influenced by the political landscape.”
Wynonna Earp Season 2 Episode 1 airs in July 2017.
