4th Power is set to be known as 4th Impact all throughout the “The X Factor UK” 2015 competition.
Although a source by The Sun revealed that the girls are set to be renamed as 4th Impact, a lot of fans are not buying it and some are still calling them 4th Power.
The name change was reportedly necessary to avoid potential copyright infringement.
A source by OK! Online reportedly revealed the copyright issue, saying the girls’ name change was “similar to that suffered by Little Mix” who previously took on Rhythmix.
“It came as a bit of a shock. The homework should have been done,” an alleged source told The Sun (via Yahoo Celebrity UK).
Details about the name of the group claiming for the copyright were not disclosed, except that they allegedly named themselves first as 4th Power.
On Monday, the girls from the Philippines revealed themselves as 4th Impact during the “Good Morning Britain” show.
“We were used to 4th Power. When fans were taking pictures with us, they were always like, ‘Can we be 5th Power or 6th Power?’” the girls said in a report by The National.
As for the process of the name change, it involved public voting, which was reportedly announced during the Six Chair Challenge.
“Simon suggested that the audience decide,” a representative from “The X Factor UK” 2015 revealed.
No doubt that various fans love the girls, who now have a global following, due to their impressive performances so far in “The X Factor UK” 2015.
And when asked about how this felt, especially the warm welcome that the UK public gave them, Almira Cercado said it was flattering since they did not expect the kind of welcome they are receiving from the viewers.
4th Impact (4th Power) are composed of four Cercado sisters: Almira, Irene, Mylene, and Celina.
Catch the girls in “The X Factor UK” 2015 on October 24-25.
