Fans of the mutant silver speedster, Quicksilver, are currently in a very interesting position because even if one iteration of the character has met his maker, another iteration of his character lives on in in the latest “X-Men” film franchise, and was featured in “X-Men: Days of Future Past”, and will be featured in the upcoming film “X-Men: Age of Apocalypse”. Fans of Evan Peters and of “The Son of M” will be in for a treat in the next “X-Men” movie as the silver speedster will be seen more in the upcoming summer blockbuster, which will also feature the mutants from the first two films, and various other iconic mutants. Read on to learn more about this episode.

Without a doubt, the silver speedster, and the “Son of M”, Pietro Maximoff, also known as Quicksilver, an Avenger and former member of Magneto’s Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, is quite an intriguing character, who has, of recently, been placed in a very interesting position when it comes to superhero movies that feature him.

As of recent years, two iterations of this iconic character have been seen. Quicksilver has been featured in the recent “X-Men” films, in particular in “X-Men: Days of Future Past”, and was portrayed by Evan Peters, who teamed up with James McAvoy’s Professor Charles Xavier in order to break Michael Fassbender’s Magneto, whom he didn’t know was his father, out of prison. The character had also been featured in the latest “Avengers” film, “Avengers: Age of Ultron”, by actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson, alongside his sister, Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), who is also known as the Scarlet Witch. Instead of the speedster joining up with a newer and younger version of the Avengers in the end, only his sister gets to join as he dies during the events of the film, as a hero.

However, fans of the speedster need not fear, as Evan Peters’s iteration of Pietro Maximoff is alive and well, and will, according to Comic Book Resources, be joining other iconic “X-Men” characters who will be making their theatrical debut in this film franchise such as Jean Gray (Sophie Turner), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee), Jubilee (Lana Condor)  and Cyclops (Tye Sheridan).

According to an interview that Peters had with MTV, he told them to expect that Quicksilver will be more heavily involved in the upcoming movie, and even shared some scenes with the core mutants who set up the franchise this time around, such as Jennifer Lawrence’s Raven Darkholme, otherwise known as Magneto’s future right hand woman, Mystique.

He also mentioned that the upcoming film will be “bigger, better” and “will be massive and epic in scope”. He also mentioned that the challenge for him and for the special effects team, aside from making it “bigger and better”, is to top his iconic sequence in “Days of Future Past” during the part when he teamed up with the X-Men to break Magneto out of prison.

And that was all for the update on Evan Peters’ Quicksilver in the upcoming “X-Men: Age of Apocalypse” film. For more updates and news on upcoming movies, keep on following Movie News Guide (MNG).
