The production for “X-Men: Apocalypse” is nearing its shooting dateline, and fans are eager to know who will be playing as the younger versions of Jean Grey, Storm and Cyclops. Sony might’ve released some names then, and they are releasing new names now. Read on to know more about the details of this scoop.
Blast from the past is definitely the theme of the upcoming “X-Men” flick as the younger versions of Charles Xavier, Magneto, Mystique and the Beast will finally find the first of their first wave of even younger students. Teenage versions of Cyclops, Jean Grey and Storm are up for casting, and new names are submitted to play such refreshing take on familiar roles.
According to Cinema Blend, a new set of names are being considered for the teenage roles of Jean Grey, Storm and Cyclops; and they are definitely different from the first wave that were highlighted back then. It would appear that the studio has a knack for choosing the rising stars as they are now considering Taron Egerton, Jamie Blackley and Tye Sheridan for the role of Cyclops with Sophie Turner and Saoirse Ronan appearing to be contending for the younger version of Jean Grey. There’s also the choice between Alexandra Shipp and Zendaya Coleman to be Storm.
Looking at the names of these young actors, they are very much familiar as most of them recently starred in their own film or are currently stars of a high-profile TV show. Before, the names Elle Fanning, Chloe Grace Moretz and Hailee Steinfeld were thought out for Jean Grey, and Charlie Rowe, Timothee Chalamet and Ben Hardy for Cyclops; but it seems that the studio is keeping their options open.
“X-Men: Apocalypse” is basically set in the ’80s with Professor X and his youthful compatriots of mutants fighting off the ancient mutant named Apocalypse. Everyone saw him being praised as he moved debris in the post-credits scene of “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” Lots of names of rising stars are certainly up for such huge roles but we’ll all have to wait for the final casting announcement to know who plays who.
“X-Men: Apocalypse” is set to premiere on theaters on May 17, 2016.
