“X-Men: Apocalypse” and “Fantastic Four” are two of the most awaited superhero movies. The former is the final installment in the new X-Men trilogy that started with “X-Men: First Class” and the latter is a reboot of the movie of the same name. Fans excitement around both the movies tells you that a lot is riding on both of them. Loaded with stories and escapades of their own, what if both the universes were to intersect at some point and the superhero teams was to come face to face. “X-Men: Apocalypse” director Bryan Singer recently gave some insights. Read on for more details.
According to Movie Web, before Comic-Con got off to a roaring start, casts of both the movies attended the event in person and showed footages of their respective movies. That somehow gave birth to rumors that producers of the movie are planning a crossover movie with the star cast of both the movies.
When asked, Singer revealed that the rumors are indeed true. He plans for a crossover movie are being discussed as of now. He expanded by saying that this combination of “X-Men” and “Fantastic Four” is a natural match-up. It was since both the movies are a superhero ensemble and there’s a certain mechanism in place by which to do it.
However, the main highlight of Singer’s comment was when he said that it deals with time. Perhaps when he mentioned time, he was referring to the fact that getting all the actors playing different superheroes together will take some time. It was because there always is scheduling conflicts and actors tend to have their calendars booked throughout the year. The director was also not very eager to divulge any more details on the said movie since it is still on the planning stage.
It would be interesting to see both the teams doing something good together especially when Mr. Fantastic’s scientific mind and Professor Xavier’s telepathic skills would be leading them. Until an official announcement is made, fans can speculate what story will the crossover movie adapt when it releases.
