Sometimes, as most artists, musician, designers and writers can attest to, in the process of creating something, the line between being influenced by another artist’s work and plagiarism is a very fine one, and is one that can easily be misinterpreted and be misconstrued. This hard lesson is just being discovered by actress, singer and designer Yoon Eun Hye, because of a piece that she designed in a designing competition show that bears striking similarities to a piece that was designed by designer Yoon Choon Ho, whose pieces she sometimes wears and models. Read on to learn more about the allegations of plagiarism made against Yoon Eun Hye.

Yoon Eun Hye, an actress known for her roles in dramas such as “Goong” and “1st Shop of Coffee Prince,” and who just appeared in a “Project Runway” like show in China entitled “Goddess’ Fashion”, according to Soompi and K-Drama Stars, has been accused of plagiarism by designer Yoon Choon Ho.

The piece in question, which Yoon Eun Hye designed, and which led to her winning that part of the competition, is a coat-like white dress, with frills on each sleeve. It looks a little bit similar to Yoon Choon Ho’s white one-piece shift dress, with frills on each sleeve.

According to Soompi, after the episode aired, Yoon Choon Ho, after hearing that it seemed that his clothes were on the show, checked it out, and took to social media saying that he felt that Yoon Eun Hye had plagiarized or copied off of his design. However, he also stated that he could see the differences between the two. Vecause of the fact that the actress’ stylist just picked up a “sponsored outfit” from them recently, he felt that it was probable that Yoon Eun Hye could have copied it off the sponsored outfit that was sent to her.

However, according to Soompi, Yoon Eun Hye has just issued a press release in which she tried to explain her side.

According to her, the piece had to have hints of “nature, “snow” and “lion.” They were then tasked to pick a movie and to incorporate it with the given themes for the week. For this purpose, they thought of the lion from “The Chronicles of Narnia,” and wanted to use the design to highlight a lion’s mane. In order to do this, they studied and drew inspiration from big fashion houses, and got their inspiration from particular collections from Viktor & Rolf and Lanvin.

She also went on to state that compared to Yoon Choon Ho’s piece, the location of the frills on her sleeves were different from his.

She also stated that she thinks that he should have tried to contact her first regarding the issue. She stated that the sponsored outfit that her stylist had picked up from his company wasn’t the piece in question.
