Jason Thompson would soon be seen in the upcoming episodes of “The Young and the Restless”. It was speculated from quite some time and now it has been confirmed.
The 39-year-old Jason Thompson would be seen in the “The Young and the Restless”episode airing on January 2016. According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, Thompson would be playing the role of Billy Abbott. Before Thompson stepped in, the role was played by Burgess Jenkins.
Everyone has been guessing and rumors had been surfacing since past some weeks that Thompson would be cast in the show. The buzz began when news surfaced that he was parting ways with “GH” and would no longer play the role of Patrick Drake.
According to hearsay, Jason Thomson wished to exit the show because he was not happy that he had so less screen time on “GH”. It was expected that he would love to do the role of Billy Abbott in “Y&R”.
Jill Farren Phelps who has worked with him in “GH” and is lately working in “Y&R” is excited to have him in the show. She told to Entertainment Weekly that Thompson is wonderful person and an actor of exceptional caliber. She added, “He will bring so much to the character and we’re thrilled to welcome him to The Young and Restless family.”
CBS’ head of daytime, Angelica McDaniel also said that he is a “gifted actor and we (they) are thrilled to welcome him.”
