Zac Efron doesn’t remember his most popular song from “High School Musical” that made him recognize as Troy Bolton! Read on to more details.
Put the words “awkward” and “embarrassing” in one sentence and it can describe Efron’s situation during his Cosmopolitan UK’s interview alongside with director Max Joseph and costar Emily Ratajkowski.
The director and the stars of “We Are Your Friends” were promoting their new movie, and since the storyline follows the life of Cole (Zac Efron), whose dream is to become a major record producer, the interviewer asked them to play a music guessing game.
At first, Joseph and Ratajkowski guessed the first two songs, one is “Drunk in Love” by Beyonce and “Justice vs. Simian’s” from “We Are Your Friends,” but when it comes to One Direction’s song, it seems like no one heard it before.
The reporter played the intro to “Breaking Free,” Efron knew that it was from his movie “High School Musical” at the very first time he heard it, but he forgot the title! (Oh c mon! he forgot Troy and Gabriella’s best love song ever!) It seems like, he does not have a good memory at all!
Even though every Disney Movie fan can still remember and can still sing along with “Breaking Free,” not in the case of Efron, based on Time’s report.
Moreover, while listening to the song, Efron was like: “That’s High School Musical…Oh! The name of the song?” then he goes blank.
“Oh man…I’m pressured,” he added quickly.
HollywoodLife.com reported that Efron tried to make up different possible names for the song: “Soarin”, “Flyin” and “Take A Chance.”
Joseph makes the moment even more awkward by pointing out to Efron that it was his voice!
And now, the final moment…when Gabriella’s part was played and she mentioned the word “breaking free” that’s when Efron remembered that (yeah…) the name of the song was “Breaking Free.”
He then quickly noted to everyone that there’s three other movie’s that has different songs. And besides, it has been almost a decade ago since Zac Efron played as Troy Bolton…well, at least he remembered the title of the movie.
