Zac Efron became popular after his stunning performance in Disney’s “High School Musical” alongside his then-girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens. While there are currently no plans of doing a fourth installment to the popular movie series, Zac Efron speaks up on his thoughts on doing another HSM movie. Read on to learn more about this scoop.
Many fans went wild when a new installment to the “High School Musical” franchise was announced on RyanSeacrest.com. According to the outlet, the next installment to the franchise is titled, “High School Musical 4: The Wedding.’
The outlet went on and said that Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens will be reprising their role as Troy and Gabriella, wherein the two sweethearts are allegedly headed to the altar.
Cordin Bleu also tweeted, “If you liked the first three, the fourth is going to blow your mind. #getchaheadinthegame.”
What fans didn’t know back then was that the article had the line: “April Fools! The above story is just a fun fabrication… hope you had a good laugh with us.”
The line left many HSM fans heartbroken after they got their hopes up that they would see Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens back again, at least on screen.
While there are currently no plans of doing a next installment, Zac Efron revealed that he is very much interested in reprising his role as Troy in “High School Musical.”
The “17 Again” actor revealed to E! News that he still meets some of his co-actors from the movie, writes Venture Capital Post. Efron said that every time they meet, “there’s just this look that’s between us. We’re all thinking about it.”

Vanessa Hudgens, on the other hand, is currently preparing for her Broadway debut in “Gigi,” which will debut on April 8.
The outlet cited that Monique Coleman who played Taylor McKessie also expressed interest on doing another HSM and tweeted: “How cool would it be if the cast of #HSM came together for a reunion? Like real HS. It’s almost been 5 years!”
Corbin Bleu, who is currently busy playing Marcus in “Megachurch Murder,” has also expressed interest in doing an HSM spin-off.
