According to Comicbook, the first ever teaser trailer for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s zombie thriller drama, “Maggie,” has been released online. Read on more details here at Movie News Guide (MNG).
Comicbook reported that the 15 second trailer of the zombie-apocalypse thriller was released over the weekend. Schwarzenegger plays the role of aMidwest U.S. farmer. He is also the father to a teenage girl, who, in sour turn of events, becomes infected by an outbreak of a disease that slowly turns the infected into cannibalistic zombies. During her transformation, her loving father stays by her side where their relationship is tested.
“Maggie” is directed by Henry Hobson and written by John Scott. Scott’s script made the 2011 Hollywood Black List of Best Unproduced Screenplays. The film stars Schwarzenegger, Joely Richardson and “Zombieland” star Abigail Breslin in the titular role. Schwarzenegger also co-produced the film with Bill Johnson, Ara Keshishian, Colin Bates, Joey Tufaro, Pierre-Ange Le Pogam, Matthew Baer, Claudia Blumhuber and Jim Seibel. The pic is a dramatic departure for Schwarzenegger, who is more known for his action hero roles.
Schwarzenegger recently starred in action ensemble film “The Expendables 3” alongside Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture and Terry Crews among others. He is set to return in the latest installment of the Terminator franchise, “Terminator Genisys.” He will reprise his iconic titular role, which is set for a July 1, 2015 release. Schwarzenegger is also reported to reprise his role as Conan the Barbarian in “The Legend of Conan.”
“Maggie has all the ingredients that spell commercial excitement, from a compelling script and an A-list superstar surrounded by a world-class cast – [It] takes the zombie genre in exciting new directions, and it offers something for everyone – star power, horror, suspense and riveting performances that will keep moviegoers on the edge of their seats.” says Lionsgate co-chief operating officer and motion picture group president Steve Beeks.
Silver Reel and Gold Star Films financed the film which Lionsgate slated for an early 2015 release in North American territory.
